  • Toxicity: THFA rates as one of the least toxic solvents, but it has a narcotic effect similar to that of diethyl ether. It gives rise to skin and mucous membrane irritation. As it dissolves the upper layers of the skin, hand protection should be provided to prevent contact. The occupational exposure limit is 200 ppm.
