History

The Road Less Traveled: Developing novel technology and market opportunities in the bio-renewable chemicals space (since 1998)

October 2015: Our Cob.Trade™ Team's Biomass.Market development was selected as one of the top 10 South African Cleantech Innovations for 2015.

June 2015: GreenEnergyPark™ was selected as a semi-finalist by the Global Cleantech Innovation Program (GCIP), which is a United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) initiative, hosted and jointly implemented in South Africa by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA, Department of Scinece and Technology initiative).

April 2013: Introduction of the µ-BioRefinery™ - in propinquitatem ad biomasa - a downscaled adaptation of the GreenEnergyPark™ concept. It takes biorefining to communities and/or smaller farming enterprises.

January 2011: Launch of GreenEnergyPark™ - Smart biomass (agricultural/forest residues) conversions to energy, chemicals and commercial products.

September 2010: 1st SA Company: Runner-up at CTI PFAN Africa Forum for Clean Energy Financing.

(This award is granted for outstanding achievement in chemical engineering or process technology in its broadest definition. Unusually competent chemical engineering effort carried out essentially within Southern Africa, including commercial implementation (where relevant) and with at least an element of innovation, are the main criteria. As engineering is largely a team effort, the award is more likely to be made to a group, though not necessarily so).
